Q: Who will answer my phone call or email message?
A: Dr. Lisson will personally respond to all phone calls, emails, & scheduling requests.

Q: Is what I share with Dr. Lisson confidential?

A: Your confidentiality is protected by state law and by the rules of the psychology profession. Please see the NC Privacy Notice document on the Registration Forms page of this website to see exceptions to confidential, as dictated by NC State Law. Protected health information concerning patients is held confidential and is released only through procedures consistent with the law and professional ethics. In order to improve medical outcomes, Dr. Lisson will seek your written permission to discuss pertinent treatment goals and progress with some of your medical providers, such as your referring physician. During your initial consultation, Dr. Lisson will discuss the benefits of open communication with your other medical professionals.

Q: What if I think I need to be evaluated for medications or I am already prescribed medications?
A: Dr. Lisson is licensed & trained to practice psychology, not medicine. However, Dr. Lisson consults with physicians to assist clients in seeking a medication evaluation.

Q: Does Dr. Lisson take insurance?
A: Dr. Lisson is an in-network provider for Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. Please note that some specific plans within these companies outsource mental health coverage to a 3rd party company, and therefore, Dr. Lisson may not be a covered provider under these plans. You should call your plan directly to confirm that Dr. Lisson is covered under your specific plan. Dr. Lisson can bill other insurance plans if a client has out-of-network benefits, but full payment from the client will be expected upfront; a refund will then be issued to the client, if a client's plan issues a payment to Dr. Lisson for out-of-network benefits. All billing will be completed through Dr. Lisson’s office. Clients are responsible for knowing their copay, co-insurance, and any deductible amounts prior to their first visit and submitting these payments on the day of service ( see Fee & Payment policy/Financial Contract within the Registration Forms page of this website.

90791- Psychodiagnostic Evaluation/ Initial Consultation (90-minutes)- $175

90837- Psychotherapy Session (60 minutes)- $150.00

90834- Psychotherapy Session (45 minutes)- $110.00

90832- Psychotherapy Session (30 minutes)- $80.00

Q: Does Dr. Lisson have a no-show policy?
A: Yes, Dr. Lisson will charge $50 for each no-show before scheduling the next appointment . Except in cases of an emergency or illness, clients should provide at least 24 hours notice when cancelling an appointment . Video-counseling sessions can be provided in lieu of in-person appointments whenever patients cannot travel to their appointment.
